BANGALORE: Infosys is undertaking a major employee survey, which it says will have a significant influence on its future course.
And in order to inspire all employees to actively participate in it, the survey communication to employees carries the image of Malala Yousafzai, the 16-year-old Pakistani campaigner for women's rights and education who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban and whose courage has inspired the world. The employee communication is titled: 'Power of One:You can make a difference'.
Infosys has partnered with global performance management consulting company Gallup to conduct the litmus survey to gauge the mood in the company, said sources familiar with the development. A ten-question mailer has been sent to employees. Questions include whether the employee would be willing to stay in the organization beyond two years, what are the positives and negatives of the company and whether employees feel empowered in the organization.
The survey, sent on Monday's group mail, is open to employees who have joined the company before May 31 this year. The feedback from the survey will be played back to the chairman's office. The move is largely seen as the brainchild of Rohan Murty, who is opening up all channels of communication within the company.
The company's HR head Srikantan Moorthy, and business IT services head of manufacturing Narsimha Rao Mannepalli have addressed the employees in a short video on why it's important to participate in the survey. "Litmus is the power of one much like the 49 Campaign launched in India to promote women's empowerment in the country," said Mannepalli. He said that for anyone wanting to create a more "desirable Infosys", the survey was an important step. "What we get as feedback this time will influence the path we choose from here. Please participate and unleash the Power of One," he said.
