A World about Slavery... Will you join me?

Hey,

Thought slavery ended centuries ago? It’s hard to believe, but there are at least 20.9 million living in slavery today.

Across the world, people are being sold, trafficked across borders and forced into situations I can hardly imagine. I just pledged to mobilise governments, businesses and communities to end modern slavery. Will you join me?

It’s a centuries-old evil, with a modern day big business twist. Slavery contributes to the manufacture of goods from garments to chocolate and coffee; women and children are tricked or trafficked into sex slavery all over the world, from New Delhi to New York. In total it’s a $30 billion US dollar-a-year business.

People are coming together behind a new global movement to end modern slavery, called Walk Free. Right now we’re building a massive petition to world leaders, which will be delivered to the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, asking them to make eradicating modern slavery their priority. I hope you can join me in adding your name.

Let’s be the generation that builds a world without slavery.

Thank you,

Sathish Kumar
